COSC Continuing Education FAQs

The Texas A&M Construction Science Department (COSC) is an authorized provider of continuing education and several professional development credits.  We are pleased to help you earn the continuing education necessary for your career development and license renewal.

Our credentialing partner, the Office of Continuing and Professional Education, is responsible for establishing and maintaining standards for COSC's learning programs from development to delivery.  This includes ensuring that training programs comply and/or exceed the COSC and our partners criteria under the IACET Standard.

Are the Continuing Education credits issued by COSC recognized by my organization?

Most organizations accept Continuing Education credits provided by Institutions of Higher Education and Institutions accredited by the IACET.  If your organization has any questions, please have them contact our office.

Are your courses online?

Some of our courses are offered online.  Our Calendar lists the Course, Date, Time, and Format of our classes.  Our online platform is Zoom and our Learning Management System is Canvas.  Links to the Zoom environment are emailed to the learners prior to the first course session.

How do I know when education opportunities or classes will occur?

We post our courses on our calendar that shows our courses, locations, and dates.

If I sign up for a series of classes, do I have to take the courses in a particular order?

Several of our courses are taught in a sequence that will require the learner to take the courses in the order published.  This is because the educational content builds on prior course material.  If taking the classes in order is a requirement, it will be noted on the registration page.

How do I receive my Certificate of Completion for the course I have taken?

Your Certificate of Completion will be emailed to you when you successfully complete the requirements for the course.  You can also access your certificates by clicking on the Dashboard button of Canvas.  Then, click on "Completed".  You will see a list of all the completed courses at Texas A&M University.  Click on the word "Download" next to each course to download the certificate.

If I cannot attend a course I have signed up for, may I receive a refund?

We understand that there may be instances of learner cancellations.  Our refund policy allows for a full refund (minus the cost of learner materials) for course fees up to five days in advance of the scheduled start date of the course.  If a cancellation occurs within five days prior to the start of the course, the CE Department will issue a "course credit" for the course fee to be used for the same or a different course.  The credit is valid for one calendar year from the date of the cancellation.
